Fırat Hi! I am Fırat, and I am a graduate of English Language and Literature Department. Currently, I am studying for my M.A. on Educational Technologies. I have been teaching English for 3 years now, and now I am getting ready to something brand new for me; team teaching. Even though I have had some concerns about it in the beginning, after reading on it and experiencing a mock team teaching, most of my prejudices have gone away, and now I am curious about my future studies on this. I say team teaching because I believe it highlights better parts of us and helps create an active classroom environment, enables easier classroom management and much more. Union is strength; there are two teachers to help out each other whatever the situation is. The collegiality and combined expertise provide an advantage without any doubt as team-teachers share their knowledge and experience, they share their feelings and even their workload; that is to say they stand for each other. I will try to contribute to team teaching with the best of me. As long as changes and differences are involved, there will always be development for us, teachers. |

Yeliz Hi, I am Yeliz Çiçek. After graduating from the department of American Culture and Literature at Hacettepe University, I received my pedagogical formation from the ELT department at the same university. I am currently working on my master’s degree in American Culture and Literature at Başkent University. I believe in strong communication between the teacher and students, as well as bilateral motivation, for these are the most crucial aspects of teaching and learning. Although I have been teaching English for six years now, I have never been involved in team teaching before. I go for team teaching because I expect it to be a positively challenging and promising experience as it is completely new for me. Getting feedback and help from the team, besides designing lessons together, sounds supportive. Developing new ideas and ways for teaching leads us to create a better atmosphere not only for ourselves, but also for our students. In addition to building stronger ties and cooperation among the team members, I hope team teaching will help me improve my teaching skills by giving me the opportunity to see myself as a teacher from a different perspective. It will also give me the chance to contribute to my team, developing the team spirit through creating experimental experiences. |
Canan Hi.. I'm Canan. I have been teaching for almost 5 years. I started teaching just after I graduated from Middle East Technical University in 2012. I began my teaching career in Italy as a Comenius Language Assistant, which is a European Union Program. Then I taught at METU Development Foundation Schools in Denizli. Now I have been teaching in UTAA since 2014. I hold an MA in teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language in GAZİ University. I am really into teaching English at every level and developing myself in my field. My favorite quote about my profession is: “Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.” I think team teaching is very enjoyable and it seems to be very beneficial both for my students and me& my partner because it is a brand new way of teaching and learning, which is very creative !It can help create a more positive and supportive teaching environment. It also contributes to share our burden as teachers and meet the students' needs together. It is the first time I will share the same class and the same teaching objectives for the same lesson with another teacher, so it excites me! During this process, we will be planning more, thinking more, working more for our students, so I believe they will also be very pleased at the end of this experience since it is also the first time that they will be learning from two different teachers in one class. |
